In school and every area of our lives, times are going to come when we feel we can’t take it anymore and all we want to do is give up or let go. You’re going to be under pressure from school to meet up with a deadline to prepare for tests and/or exams, to submit assignments or projects, and there’s the expectations of family and friends and the church/mosque if you go to one. Note that not all days are going to go how you plan and some days would come and leave you frustrated and angry at yourself. All these could lead to emotional trauma or if care is not taken, possibly depression.
How then do we handle this when the time comes or maybe you’re even going through it now???
For me, when things get overwhelming, i just go to a corner to be alone, talk to God in prayer and possibly cry even. The best you can do is to remind yourself of God’s promise to be with you no matter how tough it goes and how he wants the best for you
Release the pent up emotions , don’t keep the frustration or hurt in, cry it out when it’s needed. Trust me, you’ll feel motivated and better after you do just that. No, you’re not weak when you cry instead you’ve been strong for too long. Let no man deceive you to save the tears for tomorrow tell them you’ve got abundance of it
3. Speak up
Tell someone who can relate and I emphasize relate to avoid people who would take what you’re passing through as trivial or you being emotional. Talk to your mentors or course mates you’ve observed to be quite helpful. You could even talk to your fellow religion friends depending on who you feel understands you better.
4. Motivation and Meditation
To help during this period, one thing I also recommend that also helps me is downloading motivational audios. Many may say it’s quite silly but it makes me more sure no matter what I’m going through, it’s all part of the process to success. You could use quotes too or even speak to people excelling in respective areas to motivate you.
5. Reward yourself
This is somehow related to the part of motivation. When days don’t go right as planned for me, what i do is go to the cafeteria, buy good food( possibly after crying, I’m a cry baby i know ), buy drinks or snacks, listen to some songs then get back to work.
These are some of the tips which i recommend. So next time when you’re having a bad day, don’t take it too hard on yourself and remember it’s all part of the process to success
